One of Castle Rock's most beautiful and prominent features is its open space and parks. The Town has 5,475 acres of open space, with the Town owning 2,645 acres, private open space of 1,500 acres and Douglas County with 1,330 acres. We also have 18 developed parks, for more than 265 acres of neighborhood, community and regional parks, including Rhyolite Regional Park. A new neighborhood park, Wrangler Park, is planned for 2011. Last, but not least, Castle Rock has 44 miles of soft-surface and paved trails, with an additional 50 miles of trails planned.
